Modular seating system developed with Benchmark for museum gallery and breakout spaces, encouraging gathering, pausing, and reconfiguration.
Inspired by the ritual of shared objects, the design draws on anthropological ideas of gathering and rest. Its silhouette references everyday café culture, while proportions and material choices are calibrated for durability, comfort, and public use within museum environments.
Developed through industry feedback from Matter, the design was refined through scale testing, material studies, and iterative prototyping, resulting in a flexible system that balances domestic warmth with the durability and calm needed for public, institutional use.
